All congregations will need to understand these three essential concepts in the coming decades if they are to be vital in their ministries.
- Transformational – While the essence and substance remain the same, the external and internal forms change adaptively depending on the environmental circumstances and the life cycle of the organism.
- Vocational – Vocation is rooted in “Voice”. It is literally “the voice with which our life speaks new things into existence in the world.”
- Missional – Living incarnationally and relationally, rooted in and cooperating with the Spirit of God who is already at work wherever we are.
